About Me

My name is Cassie Nobles, and I am currently seeking a job as an elementary or special education general curriculum teacher.  I am from Albany, GA and have attended Valdosta State University for four years.  In May 2013, I will graduate with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education.

This semester, I am student teaching at Moulton Branch Elementary, in Valdosta, GA.  It is a Title I, Lowndes County school.  Since I am earning a dual certification, I spent the first half of the semester in a special education setting. My placement was with third and fourth grade, in both a co-taught and resource room setting.  I will spend the second half in a second grade, regular education classroom.

Me, along with two of my best friends,
who are also going through the education program.
Throughout college, I have worked at the YMCA as a gymnastics instructor.  I have worked with children ages 2-13.  In order to be a good instructor, I had to be able to manage my class, teach new skills, and communicate with parents.  I couldn't have asked for a better job during college.  I also spent a summer as a day-camp counselor.  I worked with a kindergarten group, as well as a first and second grade girls group.  Throughout the summer we had to plan activities for the campers, communicate with parents, and accompany them on field trips.

Unlike some, I have always known what I wanted to do.  My mom is a teacher, and I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps.  She often warned me that teaching was not your typical 9-5 job, but no matter what she said, I knew it was the right choice for me.  Teaching is something that I am passionate about.  I love the relationships that I am able to form with my students and how I am able to watch them grow.  I enjoy finding authentic, hands-on ways to help my students.  After all, I want them to know that learning can be fun.
